Chapter on Nullifiers of Ablution – Second report explicitly stating that the shoulder the Prophet (peace be upon him) ate without performing ablution was sheep shoulder, not camel shoulder
Hadith Number: 1141
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن جعفر بن عمرو بن امية الضمري ، عن ابيه ، قال: رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم" يحتز من كتف شاة فياكل منها، فدعي إلى الصلاة، فقام فطرح السكين، فصلى ولم يتوضا" . قال ابن شهاب : وحدثني علي بن عبد الله بن عباس ، عن ابيه ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مثل ذلك.
Ja'far bin Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri narrates from his father: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) eat the meat from the upper part of a goat's shoulder, then he was called for prayer. He got up, put the knife aside, and performed the prayer without performing ablution again. Ibn Shabab narrates: Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated to me from his father, from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), a narration similar to this.
