Chapter on Amount of Water for Ghusl – The amount of water the Prophet (peace be upon him) and Aisha used for ghusl
Hadith Number: 1202
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد ، قال: حدثنا ليث بن سعد ، عن يزيد بن ابي حبيب ، عن عراك بن مالك ، ان حفصة بنت عبد الرحمن بن ابي بكر كانت تحت المنذر بن الزبير، وان عائشة اخبرتها، انها كانت" تغتسل هي، ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، من إناء واحد يسع ثلاثة امداد، او قريبا من ذلك" .
Hafsa bint Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr, who is the wife of Mundhir bin Zubair, narrates: Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that she and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to perform ghusl from the same vessel which contained about three mudd of water.
