Chapter on Water – Prohibition of bathing from major impurity in less than two qullahs of water out of concern for remaining impurity
Hadith Number: 1252
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، عن بكير بن الاشج ، ان ابا السائب مولى هشام بن زهرة، حدثه، انه سمع ابا هريرة ، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا يغتسل احدكم في الماء الدائم، وهو جنب" ، فقالوا: كيف نفعل يا ابا هريرة؟ قال: يتناوله تناولا.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should perform ghusl (ritual bath) in standing water while he is in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity)." The people asked: O Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), then what should we do? He replied: A person should take water from it (and go to another place to perform ghusl).
