Menstruation and irregular bleeding: Clarifying that Aisha would drink and eat from the same vessel
Hadith Number: 1361
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن خلاد ، قال: حدثنا يحيى القطان ، قال: حدثنا مسعر ، قال: حدثنا المقدام بن شريح بن هانئ ، عن ابيه ، عن عائشة ، قالت:" إن كنت لآتي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالإناء، فآخذه فاشرب منه، فياخذ، فيضع فاه موضع في فيشرب، وإن كنت لآخذ العرق من اللحم فآكله، فيضع فاه على موضع في فياكله وانا حائض" .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I would bring a vessel to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). I would drink from it, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would take it and place his mouth at the spot where I had placed my mouth and drink from it. Similarly, I would take a bone with meat on it and eat from it, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would place his mouth at the spot where I had placed my mouth and eat from it, even though I would be in a state of menstruation at that time.
