Menstruation and irregular bleeding: Permitting a man to lie with his wife during menstruation
Hadith Number: 1363
اخبرنا عمر بن محمد الهمداني ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن المثنى ، قال: حدثنا معاذ بن هشام ، قال: حدثني ابي ، عن يحيى بن ابي كثير ، قال: حدثنا ابو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن ، ان زينب بنت ابي سلمة حدثته ، ان ام سلمة حدثتها، قالت:" بينما انا مضطجعة مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الخميلة إذ حضت، فانسللت، فاخذت ثياب حيضتي، فقال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: انفست؟ قلت: نعم، فدعاني، فاضطجعت معه في الخميلة" .
Sayyida Zainab bint Abu Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) told her that once I was lying with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) under a blanket. During that time, I began menstruating. I quietly slipped out, put on my menstrual clothes, and (returned to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me: "Have you started menstruating?" I replied: "Yes." So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called me, and I came and lay with him.
