Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met any of his companions, he would place his hand on him and supplicate for him. The narrator states: One day, I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the morning and moved aside. Later, after the day had advanced, I presented myself before him. He said: I saw you move aside when you saw me. I replied: At that time, I was in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity), and I feared that you might touch me in such a state. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muslim does not become impure.
