Chapter on Mosques - Report that might mislead some into thinking the report of Rabi’ah ibn Uthman is defective.
Hadith Number: 1606
اخبرنا ابن قتيبة ، حدثنا يزيد بن موهب ، حدثنا الليث بن سعد ، عن عمران بن ابي انس ، عن ابن ابي سعيد الخدري ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، انه قال:" تمارى رجلان في المسجد الذي اسس على التقوى، فقال رجل: هو مسجد قباء، وقال آخر: هو مسجد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" هو مسجدي هذا" . قال ابو حاتم رضي الله عنه: الطريقان جميعا محفوظان.
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: There was a dispute between two men regarding the mosque which was founded on piety. One person said: It refers to the mosque of Quba, while the other said: It refers to the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It refers to this mosque of mine." (Imam Abu Hatim says:) Both of its chains are preserved.
