باب الأذان - ذكر البيان بأن العرب تذكر في لغتها عليه بمعنى له وله بمعنى عليه
Chapter on Adhan - Clarification that in Arabic, "alayhi" can mean "for him" and "lahu" can mean "against him."
Hadith Number: 1691
اخبرنا احمد بن علي بن المثنى ، قال: حدثنا احمد بن إبراهيم الدورقي ، قال: حدثنا المقرئ ، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن ابي ايوب ، قال: حدثنا كعب بن علقمة ، عن عبد الرحمن بن جبير ، عن عبد الله بن عمرو ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إذا سمعتم المؤذن فقولوا كما يقول، وصلوا علي، فإنه ليس احد يصلي علي صلاة، إلا صلى الله عليه عشرا، وسلوا لي الوسيلة، فإن الوسيلة منزلة في الجنة، ولا تنبغي ان تكون إلا لعبد من عباد الله، وارجو ان اكون انا هو، ومن سالها لي، حلت له شفاعتي يوم القيامة" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you hear the muezzin, then say the same words as he says, and then send blessings upon me. Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah bestows ten mercies upon him, and ask Allah to grant me al-Wasilah, for al-Wasilah is a rank in Paradise which will be given to only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I will be that servant. Whoever asks al-Wasilah for me, my intercession will be obligatory for him on the Day of Resurrection."
