باب الأذان - ذكر مغفرة الله جل وعلا لمن شهد لله بالوحدانية ولرسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالرسالة
Chapter on Adhan - Allah’s forgiveness for one who testifies to His oneness and the Prophet’s message.
Hadith Number: 1693
اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن الجنيد ، ببست، قال: حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد ، حدثنا الليث ، عن الحكيم بن عبد الله بن قيس ، عن عامر بن سعد بن ابي وقاص ، عن ابيه ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " من قال حين يسمع المؤذن: وانا اشهد ان لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، واشهد ان محمدا عبده ورسوله، رضيت بالله ربا، وبالإسلام دينا، وبمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم رسولا، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه" .
Aamir bin Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:“Whoever, upon hearing the muezzin (the call to prayer), says: I also bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His servant and His Messenger. I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as Messenger (that is, I have faith in them), (the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, says) then the person’s past sins are forgiven.”
