باب فضل الصلوات الخمس - ذكر البيان بأن الله جل وعلا إنما يدخل الجنة صائم رمضان مع إقامة الصلاة إذا كان مجتنبا للكبائر
Chapter on Virtue of the Five Prayers - Clarification that Allah admits to Paradise those who fast Ramadan and pray, if they avoid major sins.
Hadith Number: 1748
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن سلم ، ببيت المقدس، حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، حدثنا ابن وهب ، اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، ان ابن ابي هلال ، حدثه عن نعيم المجمر ، ان صهيبا مولى العتواريين حدثه، انه سمع ابا هريرة ، وابا سعيد الخدري ، يخبران عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انه جلس على المنبر، ثم قال:" والذي نفسي بيده"، ثلاث مرات، ثم سكت، فاكب كل رجل منا يبكي حزنا ليمين رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم قال: " ما من عبد يؤدي الصلوات الخمس، ويصوم رمضان، ويجتنب الكبائر السبع، إلا فتحت له ابواب الجنة الثمانية يوم القيامة حتى إنها لتصطفق، ثم تلا: إن تجتنبوا كبائر ما تنهون عنه نكفر عنكم سيئاتكم سورة النساء آية 31" .
Suhaib narrates that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) relating this from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): He ascended the pulpit. Then he said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul." He said this three times, then he fell silent. Then each one of us lowered his head and began to weep. This was due to being saddened by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) swearing an oath. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs the prayers, fasts in Ramadan, and avoids the seven major sins, for him the eight gates of Paradise will be opened on the Day of Resurrection, until it is prepared for him. Then he recited this verse: "If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your misdeeds."
