باب صفة الصلاة - ذكر الأمر للمرء إذا صلى وحده أن يطول ما شاء فيها
Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – On the command that one praying alone may lengthen the prayer as much as he wishes
Hadith Number: 1760
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ابي الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إذا صلى احدكم بالناس فليخفف، فإن فيهم السقيم والضعيف والكبير، وإذا صلى احدكم لنفسه فليطول ما شاء" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "When someone leads people in prayer, he should make it short because among the people are those who are sick, weak, and elderly. When someone prays alone, he may make his prayer as long as he wishes."
