Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – Report that may mislead some into thinking that breaking up surahs in prayer is recommended
Hadith Number: 1814
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن زياد بن علاقة ، قال: سمعت عمي ، يقول: إنه صلى مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الصبح، فسمعه: " يقرا في إحدى الركعتين من الصبح: والنخل باسقات لها طلع نضيد سورة ق آية 10" ، قال شعبة: وسالته مرة اخرى، فقال:" سمعته يقرا ب ق".
Ziyad bin ‘Ilaqah narrates: My uncle reports: He offered the Fajr prayer behind the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) recite in one of the two rak‘ahs of the Fajr prayer this verse:“And tall date-palms with ranged clusters.”Shu‘bah says: I asked my teacher about this hadith a second time, so he narrated these words: He heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) reciting Surah Qaf.
