Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – On what is recited in the dawn prayer (Fajr) from the surahs
Hadith Number: 1816
اخبرنا الفضل بن الحباب ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد الطيالسي ، قال: حدثنا زائدة بن قدامة ، قال: حدثنا سماك بن حرب ، عن جابر بن سمرة :" ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقرا في الصبح ب: ق والقرآن المجيد"، قال:" وكانت صلاته بعد تخفيفا" .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to recite Surah Qaf in the Fajr prayer. The narrator states that later the Prophet (peace be upon him) would perform a relatively shorter prayer.
