Chapter on the Manner of Prayer – On what is said in bowing during prayer
Hadith Number: 1897
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، قال: حدثنا ابن نمير ، وابو معاوية ، عن الاعمش ، عن سعد بن عبيدة ، عن المستورد بن احنف ، عن صلة بن زفر ، عن حذيفة ، قال:" صليت مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فلما ركع جعل يقول: سبحان ربي العظيم. ثم سجد فقال: سبحان ربي الاعلى" .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I performed prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he went into bowing (ruku‘), he began to recite «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِیمِ» , and when he went into prostration (sajdah), he recited «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَی» .
