Section on Qunut - The Prophet leaving off the described qunut in his prayer
Hadith Number: 1985
اخبرنا الفضل بن الحباب ، قال: حدثنا مسدد بن مسرهد ، عن يحيى ، عن هشام ، عن قتادة ، عن انس بن مالك ، قال: " قنت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم شهرا بعد الركوع ويدعو على احياء من احياء العرب، ثم تركه" .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Qunoot Nazilah after bowing (ruku) for a month, in which he supplicated against some Arab tribes, then he abandoned it.
