Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam - Command to straighten the rows to avoid facial discord
Hadith Number: 2165
اخبرنا عمر بن محمد الهمداني ، حدثنا محمد بن بشار ، حدثنا محمد ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن سماك بن حرب ، انه سمع النعمان بن بشير ، يقول: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يسوي الصف حتى يجعله مثل القدح، او الرمح، فراى صدر رجل ناتئا، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " عباد الله سووا صفوفكم، او ليخالفن الله بين وجوهكم" .
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to straighten the rows, until he would make them like an arrow or a spear. When he saw someone’s chest protruding forward, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: O servants of Allah! Straighten your rows, or Allah the Exalted will create discord among you.
