Chapter on the Obligation to Follow the Imam – Mention of the First Condition Permitting This Act
Hadith Number: 2210
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد الازدي ، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، اخبرنا جرير ، وعيسى بن يونس ، عن الاعمش ، عن مجاهد ، عن ابن عمر ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ائذنوا للنساء إلى المساجد بالليل" . فقال بعض بنيه: لا تاذن لهن، فيتخذنه دغلا. قال: فعل الله بك وفعل، اقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وتقول: لا تاذن.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allow women to go to the mosques at night." One of the sons of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not allow these women, otherwise they will make it a means of mischief. So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: May Allah do this and that with you, I am saying what the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and you are saying: Do not allow them.
