Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "*When a person performs prayer, he should place something in front of him. If he does not find anything, then he should place his staff. If he does not find a staff either, then he should draw a line. Whoever passes beyond that line will not harm him.*" (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This narrator named Amr bin Harith is an elder from the people of Madinah. Sa'id Maqburi and his son Abu Mahmood have narrated traditions from him. He has narrated traditions from his grandfather, and he is not Amr bin Harith Makhzumi, because he was a companion. This is Amr bin Harith bin Ammarah, who belonged to Banu Udhrah. Abu Muhammad Amr bin Harith has heard ahadith from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through his grandfather Harith bin Ammarah (may Allah be pleased with him).
