Section on what is disliked and not disliked for the one praying – clarification that prayer is only invalidated by a dog, donkey, or woman passing in front, not merely by their presence
Hadith Number: 2391
Abdullah bin Samit narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a donkey, a woman, or a black dog passes in front of a person praying, he should repeat his prayer." The narrator says: I asked, "Why a black dog? Why not a yellow or red one?" So Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I also asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) the same question that you have asked me, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The black dog is a devil."
