Section on Witr prayer – mentioning the time to perform Witr at night after night prayer
Hadith Number: 2444
اخبرنا الفضل بن الحباب ، حدثنا عبد الله بن رجاء ، عن إسرائيل ، عن اشعث بن ابي الشعثاء ، عن ابيه ، عن مسروق ، قال: سالت عائشة : متى كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يوتر؟ قالت:" إذا سمع الصارخ يعني: الديك ." وكان احب العمل إليه ادومه وإن قل" .
Masruq reports: I asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform Witr. She replied: When he heard the crowing of the rooster. The most beloved deed to him was that which was done regularly, even if it was little.
