Section on voluntary prayers – mentioning the prohibition of praying the two rak’ahs of Fajr after the morning prayer has begun
Hadith Number: 2469
اخبرنا علي بن حمدون بن هشام ، قال: حدثنا احمد بن سعيد الدارمي ، قال: حدثنا عثمان بن عمر ، قال: حدثنا ابو عامر الخزاز ، عن ابن ابي مليكة ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: اقيمت صلاة الصبح، فقمت لاصلي الركعتين، فاخذ بيدي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وقال: " اتصلي الصبح اربعا؟" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The iqamah for the morning prayer was pronounced and I began to perform two rak'ahs at that time. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my hand and said: Will you perform four rak'ahs in the morning prayer?
