Section on Night Prayer - Instruction for those praying at night to make the last unit a single witr
Hadith Number: 2625
اخبرنا عمر بن إسماعيل بن ابي غيلان الثقفي ، ببغداد، قال: حدثنا علي بن الجعد ، قال: اخبرنا شعبة ، عن ابي التياح ، قال: سمعت ابا مجلز ، يحدث، عن ابن عمر ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " الوتر ركعة من آخر الليل" ، قال ابو حاتم رضي الله عنه: ابو التياح اسمه يزيد بن حميد الضبعي، وابو مجلز اسمه لاحق بن حميد.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Witr is one rak'ah in the last part of the night." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Tiyah is Yazid bin Humaid Duba'i, while the narrator named Abu Mujliz is Lahik bin Humaid.
