Section on Night Prayer - Permissibility to pray two units after witr at night, other than the two units of fajr
Hadith Number: 2634
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد الازدي ، قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، قال: اخبرنا معاذ بن هشام ، قال: حدثني ابي ، عن يحيى بن ابي كثير ، قال: حدثنا ابو سلمة ، انه سال عائشة عن صلاة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالليل، فقالت:" كان يصلي ثماني ركعات، ثم يوتر، ثم يصلي ركعتين وهو جالس، ثم يقوم فيقرا، ثم يركع، ويصلي ركعتين بين النداء والإقامة من صلاة الصبح" .
Abu Salamah reports: He asked Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) about the night voluntary prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform eight rak‘ahs, then he would perform witr, then he would sit and perform two rak‘ahs, then he would stand and recite (Qur’an), then go into ruku‘, then between the adhan and iqamah of the morning prayer he would perform two rak‘ahs (sunnah).
