Chapter on the Traveler - What to say when entering one’s house after returning from travel
Hadith Number: 2716
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would recite this supplication:“O Allah! You are the companion in travel and the guardian of the family in absence. O Allah! I seek Your protection from the hardship of travel, from facing any distress upon return. O Allah! Fold the earth for us and make our journey easy for us.”When he intended to return, he would recite:“We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and prostrating before our Lord.”When he entered his home, he would recite:“Repenting, repenting, turning towards our Lord (we return home), may He not leave any of our sins remaining.”
