Eid Prayers - Description of what is recited in the Eid prayers
Hadith Number: 2820
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ضمرة بن سعيد المازني ، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله ، ان عمر بن الخطاب سال ابا واقد الليثي : ما كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقرا في الفطر والاضحى؟ قال:" كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقرا ب ق والقرآن المجيد، و اقتربت الساعة وانشق القمر" .
Ubaidullah bin Abdullah reports: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Sayyiduna Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him): Which Surahs did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recite on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha? He replied: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-Kahf and Surah «اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةِ» .
