Patience and Reward for Illness and Afflictions - Allah's grace in relieving the reckoning for those who endure minor sins with patience
Hadith Number: 2909
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد ، قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، قال: اخبرنا عبدة ، ومحمد بن عبيد ، قالا: حدثنا محمد بن عمرو ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: جاءت امراة إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وبها لمم، فقالت: يا رسول الله، ادع الله ان يشفيني، قال: " إن شئت دعوت الله لك فشفاك، وإن شئت فاصبري ولا حساب عليك" ، فقالت: بل اصبر ولا حساب علي.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A woman came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); she was suffering from epilepsy. She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Please supplicate to Allah Almighty that He grants me cure. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you wish, I will supplicate to Allah Almighty for you and He will grant you cure, and if you wish, then be patient, and you will not be taken to account. She said: I will be patient, so that I am not taken to account.
