Patience and Reward for Illness and Afflictions - Clarification that trials come to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) lovers faster than anything else
Hadith Number: 2922
اخبرنا احمد بن علي بن المثنى ، حدثنا القواريري ، قال: حدثنا ابو معشر البراء ، قال: حدثنا شداد بن سعيد ، عن ابي الوازع جابر بن عمرو ، قال: سمعت عبد الله بن المغفل ، يقول: اتى رجل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: والله يا رسول الله إني لاحبك، فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إن البلايا اسرع إلى من يحبني من السيل إلى منتهاه" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! By Allah, I love you. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: Trials come to the one who loves me faster than floodwaters rush towards their destination.
