The Sick and Related Matters - Recommendation to comfort the sick when visiting them
Hadith Number: 2959
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا وهب بن بقية ، قال: اخبرنا خالد ، عن خالد ، عن عكرمة ، عن ابن عباس ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل على اعرابي يعوده، فقال:" لا باس، طهور إن شاء الله"، فقال: كلا، بل حمى تفور على شيخ كبير تورده القبور، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" فنعم إذا" .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) went to visit a Bedouin who was ill. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There is no cause for worry; if Allah wills, it will be a means of purification." But the man replied: "No, rather it is a fever that is raging upon an old man and will take him to his grave." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Then it will be as you say."
