The Sick and Related Matters - What to say for protection when afflicted with illness
Hadith Number: 2963
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن عروة ، عن عائشة " ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا اشتكى، قرا على نفسه بالمعوذات، وينفث، فلما اشتد وجعه كنت اقرا عليه وامسح عنه بيده رجاء بركتها".
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would become ill, he would recite the Mu'awwidhat and blow over himself. When his illness intensified, I began to recite and blow over him, and I would pass his blessed hand over him, hoping for the blessing of his blessed hand.
