The Sick and Related Matters - Supplications to use when afflicted with fever
Hadith Number: 2968
اخبرنا السختياني ، حدثنا عثمان بن ابي شيبة ، حدثنا زيد بن الحباب ، حدثنا ابن ثوبان ، اخبرني عمير بن هانئ ، قال: سمعت جنادة بن ابي امية ، يقول: سمعت عبادة بن الصامت يحدث، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم،" ان جبريل رقاه وهو يوعك، فقال: بسم الله ارقيك من كل داء يؤذيك، ومن كل حاسد إذا حسد، ومن كل عين وسم، والله يشفيك" .
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this about the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would fall ill, Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) would recite this and perform ruqyah (spiritual healing) over him: "With the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for you, for every illness that troubles you, and for protection from the envy of the envier, and from every (evil) eye and poison. May Allah grant you healing."
