Remembrance of Death - The reason for the command to remember death often
Hadith Number: 2993
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، حدثنا إبراهيم بن الحجاج السامي ، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن مسلم ، عن محمد بن عمرو ، عن ابي سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " اكثروا ذكر هاذم اللذات، فما ذكره عبد قط وهو في ضيق إلا وسعه عليه، ولا ذكره وهو في سعة إلا ضيقه عليه" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Remember frequently the destroyer of pleasures. Whoever remembers it in times of hardship, it becomes ease for him, and whoever remembers it in times of ease, it brings constriction upon him."

اخبرنا محمد بن ابي عون ، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن حريث ، قال: حدثنا الفضل بن موسى ، عن محمد بن عمرو ، عن ابي سلمة، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اكثروا ذكر هاذم اللذات" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Remember frequently the destroyer of pleasures (i.e., death)."
