On Hope - Warning against having long hopes for this fleeting world
Hadith Number: 2996
اخبرنا الحسين بن احمد بن بسطام بالابلة، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن علي ، قال: حدثنا ابو معاوية ، عن الاعمش ، عن ابي السفر، عن عبد الله بن عمرو ، قال: مر بي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وانا وامي نصلح خصا لنا، فقال: " ما هذا يا عبد الله؟" قال: قلت: خص لنا نصلحه، فقال:" الامر اسرع من ذلك" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed by me while I and my mother were building a shelter for ourselves. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: O Abdullah! What is this? I replied: We are repairing our shelter. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The Day of Judgment will come even faster than this.
