كِتَابُ الجَنَائِزِ وَمَا يَتَعَلَّقُ بِهَا مُقَدَّمًا أَوْ مُؤَخَّرًا

فصل في الموت وما يتعلق به من راحة المؤمن وبشراه وروحه وعمله والثناء عليه - ذكر البيان بأن قوله صلى الله عليه وسلم فدعوه أراد به عن ذكر مساوئه دون محاسنه
Section on death and related matters: comfort of the believer, glad tidings, soul, deeds, and praise – Clarifying that“leave him”refers to not mentioning his faults, not his virtues
Hadith Number: 3020
اخبرنا عمران بن موسى بن مجاشع ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن العلاء بن كريب ، قال: حدثنا معاوية بن هشام ، عن عمران بن ابي انس ، عن عطاء ، عن ابن عمر ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اذكروا محاسن موتاكم وكفوا عن مساوئهم" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Mention the good qualities of your deceased and refrain from (mentioning) their faults."
