Section on the funeral prayer – The reason Aisha mentioned this matter
Hadith Number: 3066
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن إبراهيم ، قال: حدثنا ابن ابي فديك ، قال: حدثني الضحاك بن عثمان ، عن ابي النضر ، عن ابي سلمة ، ان عائشة ، لما توفي سعد، قالت: ادخلوا به المسجد حتى اصلي عليه، فانكر ذلك عليها، فقالت:" والله لقد صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على ابن بيضاء في المسجد" .
It is narrated about Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): When Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Bring his body into the mosque so that I may also perform his funeral prayer." When this was objected to, she said: "By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the funeral prayer of Sayyiduna Sahl bin Bayda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque."
