كِتَابُ الجَنَائِزِ وَمَا يَتَعَلَّقُ بِهَا مُقَدَّمًا أَوْ مُؤَخَّرًا

فصل في الصلاة على الجنازة - ذكر إعطاء الله جل وعلا للمصلي على الجنازة والمنتظر لدفنها قيراطين من الأجر
Section on the funeral prayer – Allah grants two rewards to the one who prays over the deceased and waits for burial
Hadith Number: 3078
اخبرنا محمد بن الحسن بن قتيبة ، قال: حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى ، قال: حدثنا ابن وهب ، قال: اخبرنا يونس ، عن ابن شهاب ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من شهد الجنازة حتى يصلى عليها فله قيراط، ومن شهدها حتى تدفن فله قيراطان" قيل: يا رسول الله، وما القيراطان؟ قال:" مثل جبلين عظيمين" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever participates in a funeral until the funeral prayer is offered, that person receives one qirat of reward, and whoever remains with it until it is buried receives two qirats of reward." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! How much are two qirats? The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: "As great as two huge mountains."
