Section on martyrs – Clarifying that the Prophet did not mean to limit the number of martyrs mentioned
Hadith Number: 3188
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن سمي ، عن ابي صالح ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " الشهيد خمسة: المبطون، والمطعون، والغرق، وصاحب الهدم، والشهيد" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There are five types of martyrs: the one who dies of a stomach illness, the one who dies of plague, the one who drowns, the one who dies under debris, and the one who is martyred in the way of Allah (killed during battle)."
