Chapter on Fasting While Traveling - Command for a walking or weak traveler to break the fast
Hadith Number: 3556
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا وهب بن بقية ، قال: اخبرنا خالد ، عن الجريري ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن ابى سعيد الخدري ، قال: مر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على نهر من ماء وهو على بغلته، والناس صيام، والمشاة كثير، فقال:" اشربوا"، فجعلوا ينظرون إليه، فقال: " اشربوا، فإني آمركم"، فجعلوا ينظرون إليه، فحول وركه، فشرب وشرب الناس" .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a water canal. He was riding his mule. The people were fasting. There were many people walking on foot. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You people should drink water. The people began to look towards him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You people should drink water. I am commanding you. The people again began to look towards him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) moved to his side (and advanced) and drank water, so the people also drank water.
