Hadith Number: 3809
اخبرنا عمر بن محمد الهمداني ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن بشار ، قال: حدثنا محمد ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن عمرو بن دينار ، قال: سمعت ابن عمر ، يقول:" لما قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مكة، طاف بالبيت سبعا، ثم صلى خلف المقام ركعتين، ثم خرج إلى الصفا من الباب الذي يخرج منه، فطاف بالصفا والمروة" ، قال شعبة: واخبرني ايوب، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن ابن عمر، انه قال: سنة.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Makkah, he performed seven circuits (Tawaf) of the Ka'bah. Then he offered two units of prayer near Maqam Ibrahim. Then, from the door through which one exits, he proceeded towards Safa. He performed the circuit between Safa and Marwah. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This is the Sunnah.
