Chapter on What Is Reported About the Hajj and Umrah of the Prophet – On a Report That May Seem Contradictory to the Report of Anas ibn Malik
Hadith Number: 3933
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان الشيباني ، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن المنذر الحزامي ، قال: حدثنا ابو ضمرة ، عن حميد الطويل ، عن انس بن مالك ، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " لبيك بعمرة وحجة" ، قال حميد: حدثني بكر بن عبد الله المزني، انه ذكر حديث انس بن مالك، لابن عمر، فقال: وهل انس افرد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الحج، قال: فذكرت قول ابن عمر لانس بن مالك، فقال: ما يحسب ابن عمر إلا انا صبيان.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: I am present for Hajj and Umrah. The narrator named Humaid states: Bakr bin Abdullah Muzani told me this. I narrated the hadith of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), so he said: Have I forgotten? (I think) the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed only Hajj. The narrator says: I told Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) the statement of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), so he said: Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) thinks that we are children.
