Chapter on Sacrificial Animals – On the Report Refuting the Claim That Qatadah Did Not Hear This Report from Abu Hassan
Hadith Number: 4002
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، قال: حدثنا ابو الوليد ، قال: حدثنا شعبة ، عن قتادة ، قال: سمعت ابا حسان يحدث عن ابن عباس :" ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الظهر بذي الحليفة، ثم دعا ببدنة، فاشعرها من صفحة سنامها الايمن، ثم سلت الدم عنها، وقلدها نعلين، ثم اتى براحلته، فلما قعد عليها واستوت به البيداء، اهل" .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Zuhr prayer at Dhul-Hulaifah, then he had the sacrificial camel brought to him. He marked it on the right side of its hump, then he let its blood flow and put a necklace of sandals on it. Then the Prophet’s mount was brought to him, and he mounted it. When his mount stood in the open field, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began reciting the Talbiyah.
