Book of Oaths
ذكر الإخبار عما يجب على المرء من حفظ نفسه في الأيمان والشهادات-
Report on what a person must do regarding oaths and testimonies
Hadith Number: 4328
اخبرنا ابو يعلى ، قال: حدثنا ابو خيثمة ، قال: حدثنا جرير ، عن منصور ، عن إبراهيم ، عن عبيدة ، عن عبد الله ، قال: سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: اي الناس خير؟ قال:" قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم يجيء قوم تبدر شهادة احدهم يمينه، ويمينه شهادته" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, "Which people are the best?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Those of my era, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then there will come people among whom a person's testimony will precede his oath, and his oath will precede his testimony (meaning they will swear false oaths and give false testimonies)."
