ذكر العلة التي من أجلها زجر عن الحلف بالآباء-
Reason for prohibition of swearing by ancestors
Hadith Number: 4362
اخبرنا محمد بن عبد الرحمن السامي ، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن ايوب المقابري ، قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن جعفر ، قال: واخبرني عبد الله بن دينار ، انه سمع ابن عمر ، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " من كان حالفا فلا يحلف إلا بالله، وكانت قريش تحلف بآبائها، فقال: لا تحلفوا بآبائكم" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said this: "Whoever has to take an oath should only swear by the name of Allah." The Quraysh used to swear by the names of their forefathers. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not swear by the names of your forefathers."
