Chapter on Allegiance to Leaders and What Is Recommended for Them - On the reason for pledging allegiance in obedience
Hadith Number: 4548
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان ، قال: اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن عبد الله بن دينار ، عن ابن عمر ، قال: كنا إذا بايعنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على السمع والطاعة، يقول لنا:" فيما استطعتم" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, narrates: When we pledged allegiance to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for obedience and submission, he, peace and blessings be upon him, said to us: As much as you are able (you will act upon it).
