Chapter on Obedience to Leaders - On the obligation of sincere advice in religion for oneself and all Muslims
Hadith Number: 4574
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن رمح ، قال: حدثنا الليث بن سعد ، عن يحيى بن سعيد الانصاري ، عن سهيل بن ابي صالح السمان ، عن عطاء بن يزيد من بني ليث، عن تميم الداري ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، انه قال: " الدين النصيحة"، ثلاث مرات، قالوا: لمن يا رسول الله؟ قال:" لله، ولكتابه، ولرسوله، ولائمة المسلمين او للمؤمنين وعامتهم" .
Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The religion is sincerity (good counsel)." He said this three times. The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! For whom?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "For Allah, for His Book, for His Messenger, for the leaders of the Muslims (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps these are the words) for the leaders of the believers, and for their common people (to be sincere to them)."

اخبرنا الوليد بن بنان بن الوليد بن بنان بواسط، قال: حدثنا محمد بن ميمون البزاز ، قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة ، قال: حدثنا عمرو بن دينار ، عن القعقاع بن حكيم ، عن ابي صالح ، قال: ثم لقيت سهيلا ، فقلت له: ارايت حديثا كان يحدث عمرو ، عن القعقاع ، عن ابيك ، سمعته من ابيك، قال: سمعته من الذي سمعه منه ابي صديق لابي كان ياتي من الشام، يقال له: عطاء بن يزيد الليثي ، سمعته اخبر ذلك، عن تميم الداري ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" الا إن الدين النصيحة، الا إن الدين النصيحة، الا إن الدين النصيحة". قالوا: لمن يا رسول؟ قال:" لله، ولكتابه، ولرسوله، ولائمة المسلمين وعامتهم" .
Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Be aware! Religion is sincerity. Be aware! Indeed, religion is sincerity. Be aware! Indeed, religion is sincerity." The people asked: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! For whom?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: "For Allah, His Book, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims, and their common people (to be sincere to them)."
