Chapter on Obedience to Leaders - On clarifying that obedience is due to Qurayshi leaders if they are just and uphold the truth
Hadith Number: 4581
اخبرنا محمد بن احمد بن ابي عون ، قال: حدثنا فياض بن زهير ، قال: حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، قال: اخبرنا معمر ، عن ابن ابي ذئب ، عن سعيد المقبري ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إن لي على قريش حقا، وإن لقريش عليكم حقا ما حكموا وعدلوا وائتمنوا، فادوا واسترحموا فرحموا، فمن لم يفعل منهم فعليه لعنة الله" .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I have a right over the Quraysh, and the Quraysh have a right over you people. When they judge, let them do so with justice; when they are entrusted with something, let them fulfill the trust; and when mercy is sought from them, let them show mercy. Whoever does not do so, the curse of Allah shall be upon him."
