باب فضل الجهاد - ذكر تمثيل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المجاهد بالصائم القائم الذي لا يفطر ولا يفتر-
Chapter on the Virtue of Jihad - On the Prophet likening the fighter to one who fasts and prays continuously
Hadith Number: 4621
اخبرنا عمر بن سعيد بن سنان وكان قد صام النهار وقام الليل ثمانين سنة غازيا ومرابطا، اخبرنا احمد بن ابي بكر ، عن مالك ، عن ابي الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " مثل المجاهد في سبيل الله، كمثل الذي لا يفتر من صيام وصلاة حتى يرجع" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The example of the one who strives in the path of Allah is like that of a fasting and praying person who does not leave off any (supererogatory) fast nor abandons (supererogatory) prayer until that person returns (from jihad)."
