Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the permissibility for boys to go on campaigns to serve the fighters.
Hadith Number: 4725
اخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق بن إبراهيم مولى ثقيف، قال: حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد ، قال: حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن الإسكندراني ، عن عمرو بن ابي عمرو ، عن انس بن مالك ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال لابي طلحة: " التمس لي غلاما من غلمانكم يخدمني حتى آتي خيبر"، فخرج بي ابو طلحة مردفي وانا غلام راهقت الحلم، فكنت اخدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، إذا نزل .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him): "Bring me one of your boys who can serve me until I reach Khaybar." (Sayyiduna Anas [may Allah be pleased with him] narrates:) So Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) mounted me behind him and took me along. At that time, I was a boy and close to reaching puberty. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) camped there, I continued to serve him.
