ذكر السبب الذي من أجله أنزل الله جل وعلا ويل للمطففين-
Reason for the revelation of "Woe to those who give less (in measure)"
Hadith Number: 4919
اخبرنا احمد بن محمد بن عبد الكريم ، قال: حدثني الحسين بن سعد ابن بنت علي بن الحسين بن واقد، حدثني علي بن الحسين بن واقد ، اخبرنا ابي ، عن يزيد النحوي ، عن عكرمة ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: " لما قدم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المدينة كانوا من اخبث الناس كيلا، فانزل الله عز وجل: ويل للمطففين سورة المطففين آية 1، فاحسنوا الكيل بعد ذلك" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, the people there used to cheat the most in measuring. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "Woe to those who give less in measure." After that, those people began to measure properly.
