Chapter: Forbidden sales - Description of "Muhaqala" sales that are forbidden
Hadith Number: 4999
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير ، قال: حدثنا ابي ، قال: حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمر ، قال: اخبرني نافع، ان ابن عمر اخبره، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم " نهى عن بيع ثمر النخل بالتمر كيلا، وعن بيع العنب بالزبيب، وعن بيع الزرع بالحنطة كيلا" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling the fruit of a date-palm tree in exchange for dates by measure, and selling grapes in exchange for raisins by measure, and selling a (wheat) field in exchange for wheat by measure.
