Chapter on Killing Animals – On what is lost from a Muslim’s deeds by keeping a dog unnecessarily
Hadith Number: 5654
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد الازدي ، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، اخبرنا شعيب بن إسحاق ، حدثني الاوزاعي ، حدثني يحيى بن ابي كثير ، حدثني ابو سلمة ، حدثني ابو هريرة ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " من امسك كلبا إلا كلب حرث او ماشية، نقص من عمله كل يوم قيراط" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever keeps a dog that is not for the protection of fields or livestock, then a qirat is deducted from his deeds every day."
